Let's talk about the best part — getting paid! Here's exactly how the NWG referral partner commission structure works, with real math so you know exactly what to expect.
The Commission Structure
As an NWG Referral Partner, you earn:
20%
of the setup fee for every client you refer
This is a one-time payout per referral, paid when the project kicks off. Simple, clean, no complicated tracking.
What You Earn Per Referral
| Website Type | Client Pays (Setup Fee) | You Earn (20%) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Website | $599 | $120 |
| E-Commerce Website | $1,000 | $200 |
| Larger/Custom Builds | $1,000+ | $200+ |
Bigger projects mean bigger payouts. If a client needs a 20+ page site or custom features, the build fee goes up — and so does your 20%.
Let's Do the Math
Example 1: You Refer 5 Standard Website Clients
| Referrals | Setup Fee Each | Your Commission Each | Total Earned |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 clients | $599 | $120 | $600 |
Example 2: Mix of Standard and E-Commerce
| Type | Referrals | Commission Each | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Website | 3 | $120 | $360 |
| E-Commerce | 2 | $200 | $400 |
| Total | $760 | ||
Example 3: The Big Picture
| Referrals Per Year | Estimated Earnings |
|---|---|
| 5 clients | $600+ |
| 10 clients | $1,200+ |
| 25 clients | $3,000+ |
| 50 clients | $6,000+ |
That's from casual referrals. You don't need to be a full-time salesperson — just connect people you know with a service they need.

Full transparency. No guessing. No surprises.
Common Commission Questions
"What if my referral cancels?"
You keep your commission. It was earned when the project started — cancellations don't claw it back.
"Is there a cap on earnings?"
Nope! No ceiling. The more you refer, the more you earn.
"What if someone I referred refers someone else?"
Currently, commissions are single-tier (just your direct referrals). We may introduce multi-tier in the future — stay tuned!
"Do I pay taxes on this?"
Yes, commission income is taxable. If you earn more than $600 in a calendar year, you'll receive a 1099 form. We recommend setting aside ~25-30% for taxes or consulting a tax professional.
Maximizing Your Earnings
Focus on Fit
Refer businesses that genuinely need a website. A great-fit client is more likely to sign, which means you get paid.
Follow Up on Leads
Check in with Joseph on your submitted leads. If one doesn't close, ask why — it helps you refine your approach and send better-fit leads.
Think Volume
Even 1-2 referrals per month adds up. At $120+ per referral, that's an easy $1,400+ per year from casual connections.
Earnings Potential Summary
| Activity Level | Referrals/Year | Estimated Earnings |
|---|---|---|
| Casual | 3-5 | $360-$600+ |
| Active | 10-15 | $1,200-$1,800+ |
| Hustler | 25-50 | $3,000-$6,000+ |
Based on standard website builds. E-commerce and custom projects increase these numbers.
Bottom Line
The NWG commission structure is simple: 20% of the setup fee, paid when the project starts. No complicated tiers. No confusing math. Just a meaningful payout for every client you refer.
